Holiday Hustle. Need to Forgive Someone (or Yourself) But Can’t? These Simple Tricks Will Help

Happy Holidays! For some people it is a difficult time of the year, for others it is the most wonderful time. No matter what your position about the holiday season is, chances are frustrations will occur. The opportunity to forgive will present itself.

Do you have a hard time forgiving? Are you holding on to resentment to another person, maybe even yourself? If you are trying to forgive someone but can’t, these simple steps will help.

In today’s video I give you powerful tricks to forgive more freely.

Remember, forgiveness is not about saying what the other person did is okay. It is about you gaining your power back. It frees you from the burden of obsessing and holding on to anger. You get to take your power back when you choose to forgive.

These tips can help:

Feel Your Feelings

Many of us on a self-improvement path want to forgive and we think it is the “good thing” to do, but we can’t release the anger. Then we feel guilty and hold on to shame. This is counterproductive to your path of freedom and happiness. Instead of trying so hard to forgive, feel your feelings, let yourself get angry, frustrated, sad. When you do you can then release the pain associated with the situation.

Change the Word “Forgiveness” to “Compassion”

Sometimes the word “forgiveness” holds us back. The word in itself has heavy connotations. If you have a hard time forgiving, try this trick: Turn the word forgiveness into compassion. Instead of asking how can I forgive?, ask where can I be more compassionate? This simple shift will help you focus more on healing.

Thank you Shannon, sometimes it’s hard to forgive because the person you want to forgive is hard to approach and his ego is so big, I honestly think that you can forgive someone by forgiving him/her through your mind, heart and soul. Through God’s help it will be easier to forgive and to move on,
Thank You And Have A Merry Christmas,
