Connect to Calm with These 3 Foolproof Tools

There is a great shift occurring for so many of us right now. The shift of attention, priorities, needs and wants. For so long we’ve been conditioned to seek outside of ourselves—to want more, achieve more, get more, try to be more—but it has proved exhausting. We’ve become shells of our potential, all in an effort to achieve. But you will never get enough of what you don’t need.

We are starting to see the truth, the real purpose of being alive and the meaning of it all.

We are starting to reconnect and truly understand what matters most. It isn’t stuff, things, money, power or likes on screen, but connection, meaning, love, and joy.

The moment is what matters and these experiences are at each moment. We don’t need to chase anything or do more. We just need to be who we are as we are.

This is a great time to be alive, for we are awakening to our true power, your own light within. What you seek is not outside of you. It lives in you, for it is you. You are the one, the love and the light that the world needs.

Can you feel the shift happening too? It’s time to reclaim our power and come together in our humanity. Celebrate life and each other with love, compassion, joy, and purpose.

Take this time to develop a sacred special space. Be intentional with solitude. This is a forced pause and grand opportunity to gather ourselves. I believe this is a moment in time, a calling to us all, to come home. To find wholeness within. To balance the external with the internal.

Use this time to go inward and create more moments to reflect, to surrender control and to build our resilience in self, the collective, and to connect to our faith. This is a time to awaken to your true power within and these tips can help.

Ground Your Self

One of my favorite things to do is connect with nature. Grounding is my daily tool for wellbeing these days. “Grounding” or “earthing” means directly connecting your body to the earth to restore the electromagnetic balance needed to maintain optimal health. You can do this by walking barefoot outside or sitting in the grass.

The earth has an infinite supply of free electrons, so when a person is connected to it and grounded, those electrons naturally flow between the earth and the human body. This reduces free radicals and eliminates any static electrical charge. The reason grounding is so impactful and healing is, it reduces and prevents inflammation from occurring within the body, which in turn can prevent inflammation-related health disorders.

Of course, you may not be in a position to ground yourself outdoors right now, but you can still connect with nature. You could sit by a house plant, open your windows to get fresh air or even invest in grounding products, such as mats, blankets, or shoes.

Journal/Meditate

Journaling isn’t just sitting down and writing your thoughts out. It can actually be a very meditative experience. Start with an intention, perhaps a question—what guidance does my higher self have for me today?—and then let yourself write your heart out. Don’t edit or worry about train of thought. Simply just write whatever you feel. As you write you will get clarity and direction. Doing this for 5–10 minutes a day can radically improve your mental wellbeing. It helps us get out of the ego space of trying to figure things out and solve problems with more force, and allows us to relax into a more balanced state of wellbeing.

Meditation doesn’t have to be sitting on a pillow and trying to clear your mind. It can be anything that connects you fully to the moment. Exercising, moving your body with joy, journaling, coloring, being present with your children, sea salt baths, reading or sitting in silence and allowing your inner thoughts to the surface can all be therapeutic exercises.

Rest

We are going through a massive shift on planet earth. This is a time ancient mystics, promotes and healers have predicted for a long time. It’s here! The new awareness and energetic upgrades are occurring. What this means is, each day, with the planets aligning and new solar flashes hitting the earth, you may feel extra tired. This is a time of inner work for us all. Going within yourself instead of pushing and trying to achieve. Give yourself permission to be, instead of do. Listen to your body and rest. It is needed more now than ever. As you give yourself this time of rest, your body will renew itself and rejuvenate on a cellular level. Great healing and integration are taking place. This is all part of the shift, so let yourself relax more and realize now is not the time to do, but simply be.

Unplug

In my friend, Rebecca Campbell’s book Light is the New Black she shares an important step we can all take which is to create a new reality for ourselves by unplugging from the system.

She says, “We live in a system that says we are not enough and so we are constantly striving to be something other than what we are. A system that tells us that anything that is outside of me is valuable. But that is just not true. ⁣When you realize that what is truly precious is either already within you or coming to you, striving is no longer necessary. ⁣

When you realize that never-ending achievement doesn’t bring you what you’re searching for, it is revolutionary. For it leads you to a place where there is nothing you need outside of who you truly are. you are out of the matrix; you are able to unplug. ⁣

There is no external vision or model for what is ahead. We are the ones who are called to create that. We cannot look anywhere except for within ourselves for that. ⁣This is the power of the wise woman. She knows that she has everything she needs within herself and that she has the power to create and birth life both within and outside her body. Can you feel it? A new future is being born.” ⁣

What are you being called to unplug from? What new path or way of doing things are you being called to forge?”
