What Your Fear is Trying to Tell You

I am living in Costa Rica for the rest of the month to work on my next book, The Joy Seeker Project, and something happened the other night that totally scared me.

A big crab came crawling across my living room floor. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never had a crab in my house. It scared me, mainly because at first, I thought it was a tarantula or scorpion, but the situation presented a grand opportunity for me to look at the fears in my life and why they are here.

In today’s video, filmed on Coco Beach, Costa Rica, I talk about the crab that came crawling into my life and what I take that to mean. I will share steps to help you manage the fear that is in your life and what to do with it.

It’s possible to learn from our fear, and what I learned is we don’t need to run from our fears. We think the idea is to chase them away or even face them. But it’s not necessarily about that; it’s about accepting ourselves with our fears. If you feel stuck in fear, you’ll love today’s message.

If you want a good laugh and to understand the fear in your life, watch my new video here.

Love this message! Resonated with me, felt this today, I accepted my emotion and coexisted with it by journaling on it. Yes, it freed me to be me and allowed me to exist instead of trapping me into inaction or doubut.

Thanks for another great story and message, Shannon. (I love your videos and always look forward to them.) Here’s to co-existing with Fear until it gets bored with us and side-steps out to find a more interesting scenario. Love to you and your latest venture!

I am enjoying your videos, while waiting on your book to arrive. I’m not sure how I happened upon you, but I am glad that I did. As a women of 50 years young, I have battled depression and anxiety, possible bi polar as well. I am too independent to let a medicine control my thoughts/actions, therefore I decided to embark on my journey to seek happiness via the internet and found your book, which I have ordered. Thank you in advance, in Hope’s of feeling better soon.
