How to Heal Yourself from Depression When No One Else Can (Podcast)

It’s no doubt we are living in such a trying time. Coronavirus has impacted our mental health in so many ways, from feeling exhausted and overwhelmed to not being able to get out of bed in the morning, resulting in depression for many. Prescription fills for anxiety and depression drugs reached an all-time high last year. To help us navigate this difficult time, I reached out to my friend Amy B. Scher, author of the new book How to Heal Yourself From Depression When No One Else Can. Amy’s an energy therapist who helps people release emotional baggage to become their happiest, healthiest selves. Her best-selling books have been endorsed by prominent physicians and helped thousands of people overcome chronic illness and emotional challenges.

She turned to “self-healing” as a last resort. First, she tried all the available conventional and alternative methods to address a debilitating health crisis that was hard to diagnose. After much struggle, Amy decided to engage in a deep exploration of what she calls her “inner landscape.”

In hearing Amy’s story, I asked her an important question: What was your turning point in discovering the root cause of your depression—what was the reality of your inner landscape? And her answer totally surprised me but was brilliant. She shared her revelation that the root cause of her depression was that she needed to process the grief of feeling last on your list. Amy went on to share that depression is the literal depression of self. What Amy and I have learned is,

When we fail to show up for ourselves, everything else fails.

And we talk clear strategies to reverse this epidemic.

I trust you’ll love this episode as much as I love Amy. Her healing journey is powerful, but what’s more profound are the steps she shares in this interview to help us feel more balanced, joy and connection to our true self.

So even if you don’t suffer from depression or anxiety, give a listen to the podcast because Amy’s concepts and teaching can apply to any area of our life that feels off-balance. From trying to lose weight or overcome a chronic illness to looking for more self-love and confidence, her approach is all about self-healing. And doing the inner work that is required for outer solutions.

In this podcast, Amy shares with us some of the tools she discovered to help her clear the limiting thoughts and beliefs from her subconscious mind that were directly affecting her physical body.
