Fear detox

Day 2

Welcome to Day 2:
Reach Unshakable Inner Peace

Go you go! One day down! I hope you’re feeling focused and inspired by your first day, and maybe you are even thinking about adding some aspects of this detox to your regular routine. All of the tools are designed to help you live a more balanced, fulfilling and connected life. If your schedule permits, do the program in its entirety for optimal benefits. But we understand some days don’t flow as easy as others, so if you are in a crunch, the most important part of each day is to set the intention by carving out time for you. You can do it for 5 days, twice a day, once in the morning and evening. I suggest at the very least you do the guided meditations. You can always go back to the workshops and podcasts at a later date. But starting and ending your day with inner focus can work wonders in your life. Make sure you do these parts of the program to see optimal benefits.

Today is a perfect time to go deeper into your own inner world and remove fear-based thoughts for good.

Journal Questions to ask: (10-15 min)

  • How can you focus more on the moment and appreciate all that is well?
  • What thoughts are imbalanced and holding you back?
  • How can you show up for yourself in ways you never have before?
  • What aspect of yourself are you afraid to look at or address?

Step 2: Today’s Task: Integrate the Dark into Light

When we go on a spiritual growth journey, we can easily fall into the trap of thinking life is supposed to be easy. Especially when we are doing the work. We believe that if we are not happy and joyful 100% of the time, we are doing something wrong. But true fulfillment comes with living all aspects of your life: highs and lows, peaks and valleys, light and dark. Darkness is not something to run from. It is only unhealed emotions that need more love. Embrace your shadow side—the unhealed wounds from your past, childhood traumas, unresolved anger and unprocessed fear—and work to accept the pieces of you that you despise. Only then can real transformation take hold. True peace comes from acceptance and seeing all situations with love.

A big part of any spiritual seeking journey is coming face-to-face with your deepest insecurities and fears. This is called the work. Many of us don’t want to do the work because well . . . it’s work. It is hard and painful, and it feels impossible to understand. But when we do the inner work, often miracles happen—we heal, we grow and we transform. True transformation happens when we look at the pieces of ourselves we have been hiding from. It is safe to look at your shadows. To move forward in your life, you must look at the pieces you have been afraid to see. Be honest with yourself about what you have been hiding from. The dark parts of you, your insecurities, doubts, and deepest fears, are part of you as well. It is not something to judge or condemn. From a spiritual perspective, there is no good or bad, just areas that need more love. Look at your shadows as a mother would her own child. Embrace them and love them for trying so hard to protect you. Your insecurities, doubts and fears have done nothing wrong but have simply tried to keep you safe in what often feels like an unsafe world. You can tell your wounds, emotional attachments, traumas and pain they are no longer needed in your life. You don’t need to carry any of that fear forward.

Your ego, the fear and the shadow, is part of you but does not define you. Recognize you no longer need the ego’s protection. Allow yourself to accept all of you and invite more light into your life. You can do this by saying, “I choose to be the light. I accept myself fully and allow the light to illuminate my path.”

Step 4: Listen to Podcast

The fundamental question we’re all facing boils down to, “Is it okay to be happy right now—despite the situations unfolding and so many suffering?” During such painful times, the idea of cultivating personal happiness might seem trivial—selfish, even—but it might just be more important now than ever before. In this audio podcast, I share easy ways you can cultivate more joy in your daily life–through this ever-changing time.
