A Radical New Concept to Help You Feel Inner Peace

I’ve been feeling intense emotions over the last few weeks, in part because my own beliefs are being challenged and I am trying to understand things that don’t make sense to me. Most of us fear what we don’t understand, and if you are falling into a place of worry like I was, it is a perfect time to catch yourself and ramp up your inner faith muscles.

How are you feeling? Have you been overwhelmed by the political landscape? Your friends and loved ones may have different opinions and personal beliefs, and that can cause extra tension. Or maybe you’ve removed yourself from people who see things differently and that in itself can cause more separation.

The truth is, we are living in turbulent times. Peoples, deep-rooted opinions, beliefs, and values are being tested as we are all being asked to rise up and speak our truth.

What matters most to you? Is it getting other people to see your point of view and making sure you are right? Or is it love, compassion, and kindness? No matter which side of the spectrum you find yourself on, today’s message can help.

I discovered a radical new healing concept from my own guru/life coach Summer Bacon and Dr. Peebles. In her book This School Called Planet Earth she shares the concept of planet Earth being a school and all of us are students. We go through lessons every day, and everyone you meet, as well as every situation you find yourself in, is like a course you take at a university.

Consider we’re all in a big classroom, learning lessons for our own personal and spiritual growth. The thing is, we get to choose the classes we take. Do you want to be in the course of hate, judgment, and fear, shame and worry or would you rather be enrolled in love, compassion, and kindness?

In today’s video filmed in one of the most magnificent places on earth, in front of the white temple in Chaign Rai, Thailand, I share powerful insights into how you can use this idea to your advantage.

Watch here.

After you watch, I’d love to hear what class you are currently enrolled in on this school called planet earth. Leave in the comments below. My current lesson is patience and trust. What about you?

I’m frustrated with the unsolicited advice that I receive (even though people are trying to support me, it comes to me as condescending), so I’m trying to listen, remember that people have their own baggage and respond with selfconfidence with what I am doing or the decision I have made. I think my earthly classroom is strength with grace.

Hi Shannon, This article and video you did really got my attention. I’m also going through a lot of intense emotions for the past few months…fear, disappointment, sadness. Friendships that were going in different directions I’ve had to let go of. The lesson I’m starting to learn now (finally, it’s taken me a long time to understand these changes)is the way to finding “inner peace” is to have compassion for myself and for others. That intention has been so helpful for dealing with these difficult emotions. Thank you!

    Hi,
My name is Rachel and I have been thinking about these concepts a lot to. Going through tough emotions. Like ending a friendship because I was trying to change my life to be more authentic and just going through a really tough year but I have come out on the other side and am starting to find my inner peace and that is finally allowing me to start being fearless and living my dreams. I’m also reading your book adventures for your soul and it is really helping me. Thanks for writing it. It is really inspiring me.
